I'm coming to realize that California seems to be more tightly regulated into a lockdown than many other places around the country/world. Accordingly, my few photo choices continue to be the backyard wildlife. Ken & I are quite healthy, having had nothing as much as a sniffle for over a year (because we don't go anywhere?) For the present, we're quite content, and thank you to those who asked or expressed interest. Daily I try to create something and learn something new. Thank you for bringing the outside world to my desk computer! (That really sounds pathetic, doesn't it? Yikes!)
Great capture, Louise...Some states are more tightly controlled and locked down than others. FL, SD and other states do not have strict lockdowns or no lockdowns and data shows that the numbers are the same...go figure.
I think you are more regulated because you have a higher percentage of case. Here in Maine we are amoung the lowest so we can get out and about if we are wering masks.
Great capture and I love the title! I haven't been out and about except for the masked grocery stores trips and a few outside visits with my mom and sister. The upside to this is indeed no colds or even allergies - I may just wear a mask forever.
Is it just the angle of the shot or does he have the hump on his back? Is this the squirrel who feeds out of your hand? We are hearing about how we are hopefully coming out of lockdown. It’s going to be a long hard slog! We have the same rules in England but slightly different in the other parts of the UK.
I’m glad you’re well! We have gotten through this whole school year 2 kids in school & not a single cold yet! At the very least I think I’ll keep some masks around after this; my wife works at a Japanese company has coworkers would wear masks whenever they had a cold long before the pandemic, and I am thinking they may be on to something with that!.... but also- cute squirrel!
@danette Oh, Danette, thanks! Any photo I take nowadays, I've taken a hundred times before, so the pleasure is in seeing how far I can "muck things up" for the fun of it!
Perfect title for this little guy. So good to see your photo pop up, Louise. So glad to know that you and Ken are healthy, and making the most of lockdown. Hopefully we'll be turning a corner in the coming months with vaccines, and life will begin to return to normal. I do agree with Lin, @linnypinny, I haven't had a hint of a cold, cough, or sniffle this winter...a bit of a payoff for masks and social distancing. Would love to see a vaccine for the cold-causing coronavirus come out of all the vaccine/virus research. ☺
Oh, he has a wee problem going on with his back! But what a sweet image. So nice to see your smiling face again Louise, and thanks for your recent comments on some of my photos. I'm pleased that you and Ken are both fine. Big virtual hugs coming your way from Scotland!
@merrelyn I *think* it's the way he was sitting...but it made for a good story! Ken thinks they all look like that when they sit to eat...I'll be watching more attentively now! Thanks for coming by!
@digitalrn haha Rick! He DOES eat out of my hand! Ken took photos to share with the grand kids, but, as you know, I don't post much at the present! Will hope you and the family are well and checking in to see how you're doing!
Nice to see you popping in again Louise!
glad to hear you are safe and well
