We visited the village of Sherbrooke that is a living museum with docents continuing in the lifestyle as those who worked and lived here before. To turn the wheel, she kicked a millstone at the base with her feet, much as a seamstress would use a treadle for the old sewing machine. Here, she was making a series of coffee mugs, and impressively, she could make them all look nearly the same!
A great focus on the making off . Fav.
(Love handmake pottery. Have to much of it but I won`t sell any.)
Have you ever walk on dry , hard, clay. It`s like walking on rocks. You need to take care and watch out by every step you do.
What a lovely image, so tactile. I like the idea of trying pottery one day . . . I suspect it would take some time to get even one mug I could drink from ;)
