This charming man is a friend of ours and a fixture around Lunenburg for special events (which are many!) He's on the city council and keeps busy with businesses here. I love seeing him down on the dock when the tall ships are in the harbour. It's time travel at its best!
Later this afternoon, another friend who is a descendant of one of the oldest Lunenburg families stopped in for a visit. He's an historian and a gifted story teller! I find myself hanging onto his every word! The best history is full of skeletons in the closet and hidden secrets, and Ken touched on one of them, surprising Alan! ...said it's a huge town secret! I love that we've been here long enough to have started unearthing some juicy stories!
(...it's anybody's guess what's been said about us!)
You two have definitely become part of the Lunenburg family! Love this portrait of a man in action. I imagine despite his title, he keeps those town secrets close to his vest.
@allie912 funny, Allie! That would be a comical combination! John is originally from Ontario, and it's another friend who has the deep roots. I told him it's always interesting to visit with his long history here and ours, only recent, with not so much as a Canadian ancestor!
I looked on 365 and this is the first picture that came up and I thought I wonder if it is Louise's picture, sure enough it was, yay! A fabulous picture to boot, it is. Such a wealth of stories right in this shot. And the commentary says it all! So glad to see you are enjoying your second home!
@dailypix Oh Susan, thanks! I got you sweet 4th of July letter/email; we touched down on the evening of the 3rd. If you go through the pix and the time stamps, you'll see what we've been up to since! I love this town! I love it, but it's almost impossible to get anything done! Pretty much I ride with the flow, not wanting to miss any "events of the moment"! I had a list of 9 to-do items today...your name was on it. I accomplished 3 things. Can this be my reply for the present? :) Ken keeps reminding me I ought to get some rest as well... I AM, however, on the mend, and all the better to do it here than back in CA! ♥
i love this Louise. the small town i grew up in had, (and still has the same one), a town historian who dresses the part for events. you've brought back a wonderful memory.
