My initial excitement over the photowalk was soon dampened when I discovered how uncomfortable I am taking photographs in public. This proved to be a bit of an obstacle, but the walk leader suggested I first walk through the market just to see what was there, and then take out the camera. That helped, but while others seemed quite at ease approaching vendors and shoppers, I still ended up relying on my zoom lens and keeping my distance.

I think the best thing for me was that I was with other photogs...safety in numbers! did you meet (or maybe you already know) another photographer you could meet up with to do some more photo walking?

@jackies365 It was nice to be with other photographers and I did get to visit quite a bit with one fellow about lenses. I traveled to do these walks, though, so won't have any opportunity to connect with any of them again. Surprisingly, none of them are on flickr or 365. They seem to favor facebook.
