ring necked pheasant

It is May BirdBlitz, and I'm gathering as many birds as I can. In previous years I tended to focus on the songbirds and migratory birds. This year I'm all in on birds. I've been hearing the pheasants, so was glad to catch one peeking up out of the grass.

This is so amazing April, yesterday I saw my first one ever! I did not mange to get a goid shot though. Such fabulous looking birds. Great find and capture.

We have so many around here that we see them on most walks - originally bred for shooting, and very sensibly going on the run, and breeding.
