The historic Neath Hotel is located on Cessnock Road between Cessnock and Kurri Kurri and close to the heart of Hunter Valley wine country.
It's a huge three story heritage building with a rich history dating all the way back to 1913. In its early days, the Neath Hotel was popular with miners, with mining being a rapidly developing industry in the Hunter Valley at the time, it was the perfect place to go after a hard days work.
You may be thinking Annie seems to have a bit of a pub obsession - well we all know I fancy a drink hahaha - I think my thing for pubs began when I was a kid - going on holidays with my parents and grand parents, Pop always had to stop at the pub.....to visit the loos was his excuse....to relax and have a beer and break up the journey was more likely the reason......in those days women and children weren't allowed in pubs so we all sat in the beer garden.....a pub spot I still love to this day.....anyway....travelling north in my late teens friends were impressed and surprised how I knew, had been in, nearly every pub from Sydney to Brisbane......Pop is why - he also taught me to play patience as a kid on a rainy holiday in Toukley.
