Raven and the Rats

Lunch Menu Dreams

fiery pumpkins
luckily cast a quite a
glow, our cat raven
glimpsed the three
rats surrounding a crow

the witch had already
hopped her broom
for the day, so our
raven was ready,
just licking her chops

the crow gave no notice
of the touring feline
guest, but thought only
of winged soaring as she
gazed at the roof.

raven was ready for
rare rats served on toast
but her lunch fare had
other thoughts, as they
fled to the coast!

alas, empty pawed she
scrambled back to her
dish at dogcorner, the
three roasted rats nothing
more than a wish.

For the Record,
This day came in sunny and warm, the beginning of a local weather warm up.
