This the Canada Permanent Building which was built as a loan company in 1910 in downtown Edmonton.
After the company closed it became home to different companies. The longest tenant was the Japanese Village restaurant from 1974-2012.
It is on the historical register meaning the building can't be destroyed. Hopefully one day soon a new tenant will be found .
I decided to have some fun with this one by doing a little editing with it
Wonderful processing. It's so nice and crisp. I love the contrast between the older ornate building and the modern one behind. So nice that the date is presented on top. Fav
@bkbinthecity We have some little buildings like this in New York sandwiched between the big, new ones, but not nearly enough of the old ones if you ask me!
