Some withered blooms tied to this bridge alongside all the love locks. Someone had also tied some ribbon and pussy willow further up - you can just see the bright green of the ribbon by the man.
Another restless slightly anxious night - with dreams featuring going to the dentist with Dave for his implant and being anaesthetised in the back of my neck and going straight from that to a Zoom meeting about Ukraine with the comms people. All very odd.
Got out quite early into a lovely sunny if blustery morning in case anything kicked off that I'd need to deal with on-call. Cycled down to the marshes and round by the towpath and up to Tottenham Hale. Lots of joggers, dog walkers and also a couple of horse riders (being bothered by one of the dogs) on the marshes.
Back, had just got the Bananagrams out when the work phone rang - typical. In the end, it wasn't a big job and took about 40 minutes. And so far it hasn't rung again - fingers crossed. Managed to get a solo Bananagrams in - Dave having given up waiting for me.
F's feeling a bit low though - he's had several rejections for his applications for pupillages. Dave and I can't help thinking it's more to do with classist attitudes - him not going to the right posh school/top uni etc - sorry an' all that, but law and such like are riddled with this sort of attitude. He's worked so hard and is so bright.
Mum coming round later for fish and chips, and possibly hot cross buns. Afternoon still lovely and sunny. Ended up watching Robert Mitchum and Janet Leigh in Holiday Affair.
3 good things
1. A bright spring morning - definitely milder.
2. Bicycles! So useful for exercise when you can't go to Pilates when you're on call.
3. Feeling slightly less on edge this afternoon.
A great day for a bike ride….good to get out while you can. Lovely romantic people around….
Poor F, didn’t think that sort of thing happened in this day & age!
We are touring through Czechoslovakia, Germany, Poland, Slovakia, Hungary and then a river cruise from Budapest to Amsterdam. We are now going July 2023.
Poor F, didn’t think that sort of thing happened in this day & age!
The Ukraine crisis has me so worried Ive just cancelled my July holiday to Eastern Europe
I got my hands on Bananagrams, ready to play with my grandson next week
Great news on the Bananagrams 😊
