The huge Royal Parks stretching through central London and to its inner western and northern edges are often referred to as the lungs of London.
Restless night of sleep and I managed to lock my knee painfully at one point. Was in a dark mood as I walked into the office probably partly because of it. Got irritated with all the cyclists cycling through the parks. So many and realised had something to do with the road closures starting to be put into place for the jubilee. When one came up behind me suddenly I swore furiously at him. He was rather surprised to turn round and see this middle aged woman with a foul potty mouth.
To be honest, I'm more tolerant of the local hoodlums cycling inappropriately - it's these middle class entitled jerks who should know better that pee me off. Cycling myself, they give us a bad name.
In the office for a much better day - lots of team in including M who I wasn't expecting. So after my haircut we all had lunch in Victoria Gardens.
Rushed home as we're expecting a Sainsbury's delivery and I then need to go out and vote and go to a local concert.
3 good things
1. Sunny intervals in the park at lunchtime heralding the warmer weather.
2. New flowers coming out in the park - including lovely alliums
3. Pea shoots in the veg bag, love them.
Beautiful greens. I read your narrative to my husband and he agrees wholeheartedly about middle class entitled jerks! I knew it would provoke a reaction to which he added “and don’t forget the Lycra”.
