Markfield Beam Engine by boxplayer

Markfield Beam Engine

Once used to pump sewage away from Tottenham. It was restored in the noughties and is now a museum with regular open days and steaming days when you can see it in operation. I cycle past it often on the Tottenham towpath but have never caught it open before, so popped in to have a nosey on my cycle ride today. Very impressive - huge mechanism and obviously well cared for by the volunteers.

Had been a little at a loss what to do today what with Dave carrying on in the garden so decided on a cycle. Also popped up to the farmers' market and bought basil, coriander and oregano from the herb people.

Late lunch of leftover nachos and watermelon feta salad followed by mostly reading in the garden.

3 good things
1. Interesting mushrooms from the farmers' market.
2. Lots of warm sunshine.
3. Dave had finished digging out the path, put down the edging, plastic layer and laid gravel down, though he needs more.
