This used to be a catalpa bignonioides (top Latin name) or an Indian bean tree in the grounds of one of the flats in Pimlico. It would produce its huge green leaves and beans every summer and I'd admire it as I walked past on the way to the tube. But this morning I noticed it had been chopped down. No idea why - maybe it was leaning too much and deemed a health and safety hazard. I was very sad.
