I'm not good at birds at the best of times and this is New Zealand, so I have no idea what this is! Any ideas? There were so many beautiful birds along this coastline along the Otago peninsula I was spoiled for choice! Sadly we didn't get to see the penguins or the albatross as they're only to be viewed by a tour.
I'd say it is a heron but wouldn't be bold enough to name which one. The Albatross were nesting when we were there and you could see their white heads poking up out of the grass on the headland. Otago is a lovely spot.
