Town Baths by carole_sandford

Town Baths

Or at least that is what they used to be. This building started life as the Loughborough town bath house, where some people in Victorian times went for their weekly bath, because houses then didn’t have a bathroom or indoor toilets.
It then became the town swimming baths. When I was at secondary school, we used to go here for swimming lessons & I actually took & passed my second grade here.
Theses days it is a museum, which I actually haven’t been in, but at least it keeps the building preserved.

What a lovely story and building. I have a similar situation with baths where I had swimming lessons as a young child.
