Belton House by carole_sandford

Belton House

One of the few National Trust Properties in our county, Belton House is a grade I listed country house in Belton near Grantham, Lincolnshire. It is surrounded by formal gardens and a series of paths lead to follies within a wooded park.Belton has been described as a compilation of all that is finest of Carolean architecture, the only truely vernacular style of architecture that England has produced since Tudor times. It was built between 1685 & 1688. The house & grounds are well worth a visit, if you are ever in the area...
Delightful capture; next time we really must go inside the house and have a look (if we can drag ourselves out of the garden and the tea room that is)

Beautiful, it's hard to call it a "house", it looks entirely too grand to just be a house!

@carole_sandford when we last went they were queuing across the yard for the tea room! We ended up in McDonald's in Grantham not quite the same :)

@rjb71 Ha ha! Actually there was quite a queue that day too, we nearly decided not to, but stuck with it. Definitely not the most organised one!
