Hold Ya Horses!

Well today is Monday and the weather was a beautiful 18 degrees C! So, with the lend of a 600mm telephoto lens, from my beloved, what better place to head but RAF Scampton.
This time I was shooting from a different place. I actually took myself into the old Quaters area where we used to live before the dawn of the millenium - in fact about a hundred yards from my old front door!
Didn't really know that I had caught this until I got the photos onto the pc. I think it looks as if the one in front was starting the next manoeuvre a little too soon!
Have never used a telephoto of this magnitude before & it's not as easy as it it looks, but I don't think I did too bad!
Many thanks for yur comments and favs on yesterday's photos & for getting them to the pp & tp, very much appreciated!
Impressive capture with the massive lens; even more impressive as you’ve done it with your new DSLR. Really good.

Wonderful capture.

Lovely shot. Those big lenses are difficult to hold steady.

@mave they are & with all the movement of the planes, a tripod isn’t really an option.

Great capture. I have a 600mm lens they can be a challenge at times. Is scampton your regular Monday visit?

@rjb71 it just seems to have been that way lately! They will be off to warmer climes sometime next month, so probably won’t hardly see them till around November.

@olivetreeann they do, but they are actually travelling around 400 miles per hour 😳

Crikey that's close. well done for getting this photo. David has a 600 mm lens and I don't think I could even pick it up let alone take photos with it.

Fav. I think lthat you did very well to shoot them so close. They almost look like they are going to crash into each other. Fav.

Ha ha, your title made me laugh

Perfect timing for a great capture

@carole_sandford I can imagine- it's really interesting to me how the camera can capture movement like that. To your eye they are in the frame and out of it in a split second- but the camera catches the 100th mili-second of that second for the shot!

Great shot - it looks a little like the one behind is giving the front one a little gee up!
