Lit Up

Lincoln cathedral is lit up purple at the moment for advent. This shot does show the rays of light falling onto the building in a slight mist, which apparently will be fog later tonight. I decided to upload the phone image as it was too late to get on the lap top.
We were well wrapped up for our tour around the city - by the time we came home it was -5°C - the things we do for 365!
superb!

Great light and shadows in the gorgeous architecture! Love the Christmas tree in front and the purple royal toned lights!

A really striking shot! Have to giggle a little though - it will be -16C here tonight, and winter is just getting started!

@ljmanning Ahhhh but this is the UK, where even the slightest deviation from the norm of weather throws us off kilter completely and brings the country to a standstill; I also guess it's what you are aclimatised to?

@ljmanning I know it’s not cold to those who have much lower temperatures, but for us it’s cold. It reminds me of when we lived in Berlin in the 80s, now that was cold! We would have snow from Nov to March & it was -6 in the day & -23 at night. I don’t think they have it quite so cold now, but it actually used to hurt your face if you were out in it - I always said, that I knew why the balaclava was invented! 🥶🥶
