No Mow May #26

Love-in-a-Puff (my favourite name for this plant!) or Chinese Lantern, amongst several other amusing names. Its scientific name is something quite unpronounceable, though:

It’s also known locally, in Hindi, as Sodakku Takkali.

My husband knows these vines very well; when he was a kid, the vines would grow wild just about everywhere, and he would walk past them and squeeze/pop them on his way to and from school. I tried that this morning - on just one lantern - and it’s a pleasant soothing puffing sound.

Very cute. Quite addictive, I could've quite easily gone on and puff-popped the whole vine.
Oh, what a wavy plant. It grows in our Botanical Garden. I like it in backlit.

I’ve seen them and I agree the puffing can become addictive. However, I don’t think I’ve seen the tiny flower.
