hope it's ok to post something personal but I love to hear of people meeting up through common interests ... would love to hear of or see pictures of your catch ups. in 2012 after my first attempt of 365 Deb, Sue and I met up for a fantastic photography walk and coffee with the pesky peacocks. Sadly I have heard Sue has passed away since ... I was so blessed to have met this lovely kind lady... I continue to follow Deb's amazing journey into being a professional award winning photographer!!! she is fur babies and friends photography, I am so proud of her achievements. Me... well my photography is my therapy - we have had a really tough 3 years with health issues, both my husband and I so our walks and my photo's are our together time, he often spots things for me - I tell him he should join too ... maybe one day 😃
well that's a very apt post, riikka, since yesterday i met up with @annied and @elaine55 in sydney, both of whom i met on 365 ... here are the two of them in action ... we had a great day :) i'm from the uk but my son is currently living in sydney, hence a meet-up a long way from home for me ... lovely to hear of your meeting with fellow 365-ers, and how good to know that your photography has helped you with a difficult few years. it certainly feels very therapeutic for me too
@pistache that's awesome to catch up internationally ... your pictures have a nostalgic feel to them (which will be a fond memory to be held for many years to come 😃) thanks for sharing this very recent catch up!
@vera365 the postcard exchange would give a sense of community and fun and not everyone wants the face to face stuff...to be quite honest I have been a hermit for a few years and maybe apprehensive still of meeting new people, it depends on circumstances and personality 😃
I have had meetups in Paris, Gatlinburg, Chicago, Atlanta, Alabama, and St. Louis so far, and I'm in my 5th year (in time, not photos). I have cherished my friendships here, even when face to face hasn't occurred (yet!).
@tibles I'd hardly know where to begin with the contacts I've made because of 365! Last year a group from England, St Louis, California (Ken and me), Germany and Chicago met for a week of photo time together in Chicago! What wonderful friendships were formed! We spend summers in Nova Scotia, and every year we get visitors from far-flung places! In California, we've got a friendly group from San Diego, up the coast to LA and we've met a number of times in 4 to 10 gatherings! When you begin with a great deal in common, you find that often tight friendships are formed! It's been a delight! (I joined in Jan 2010)
Rachel @888rachel from Australia and I met up when she came to South Africa for a holiday in 2016. it was wonderful to meet a 365 friend from so far away and obviously we spent a large part of the day taking photos!
Riikka, what you say resonates with me as I find my daily photography is a great therapy. My latest meet-up was with JackieR @30pics4jackiesdiamond - the four of us, Jackie and myself plus respective/respected husbands had a lovely morning at a National Trust property, coffee and cake as well as photos:
I have met up with two 365ers on separate occasions. @nicolecampbell came to stay with us in the UK when her and her husband and two girls were on their European tour. Chantal @shepherdmanswife came to stay for a couple of days and we did a photography day at Secret World shooting foxes, harvest mice and the like. I loved having both of them to stay and would do it again in a heartbeat xx
Hi I do have to join in this conversation, I haven't met anyone as yet , we mostly on travel in NZ very occasionally Australia however are really looking forward to beginning of next year when Kwind is heading to NZ and coming to Bay of Islands
I will put it out there though would love to meet up with anyone
Thanking all for reading this
I have had the privilege of meeting @ruthmouch in my country AND her country because of our connection on 365 first. I met @darylo in her town and then she came to see me in my town for another special visit. I accidentally discovered @jpvona lived near a motel I was staying at for an out of town graduation and when I contacted her she very graciously picked me up for a fabulous but brief visit. There have been a few others who do not post on 365 anymore but as you have already discovered 365 provides the connection and virtual "friendship" that makes the physical meeting seem natural.
@vera365 I agree, the postcard exchange was great - I never get any post (even my bills are emailed) so that was a novelty. It's also great to see pictures printed out.
It's great to read how many people have met up through 365. If anyone is ever in Abu Dhabi, feel free to drop me a message :)
I've had the pleasure of meeting several 365ers- some who I don't see on here anymore but two still are. The most fun has been walking across the International bridge at Niagara Falls and meeting up with @summerfield Vikki. What I find to be so much fun is that though we've never met before there is an instant connection thanks to 365. It's like we've been friends forever.
There's a tag: "365-photowalk" for photos taken on photowalks with other 365ers and "365-photobuddies" for photos of the people meeting up. I've enjoyed 365 photowalks in Chicago, San Diego, Berlin,Gatlinburg, Atlanta, St Louis, New York City, and even an airport meet up in Auckland. Plus, I'm on my way to Tasmania in July so perhaps we can meet then, @tibles ?
@jyokota what dates in July are you in Tasmania? Would definitely like to meet up for a walk and coffee at our famous gorge 😁 although depends on dates I am going to Queensland for my 25th wedding anniversary for a week! Hopefully we can work it out 😊

And I also have to say - I had a blast getting all the postcards through the postcard exchange organised by @chris667!!! It's not an equivalent of meeting people, but still a thrill! https://365project.org/discuss/general/29249/would-anyone-be-interested-in-a-postcard-exchange
