What's your favourite photo over the past week, between 16 and 22 July?
You can post your favourite photo by copying and pasting the code from the 'Share' box that's in your photo page, together with info on when it was taken. Part of the challenge is only selecting ONE picture, so no cheating!
It was tough to choose between this and the black & white birdhouse posted earlier in the week, but in the end the textures and colors of this one won out.
I've been a bit slack this week so haven't got many to choose from, but I think this one from the 17th. It's not brilliant, but it was my first attempt at a water splash.
July 16th. We were hanging out with friends around their pond. We were getting ready to go home and I almost blew off the opportunity to take this shot.
Even though this was a lot of edit work, it is, by far, my fav. I made it for my kids who went to see the midnight premier of HP7.2. 3 of them left in a car with a friend and the oldest (who is the shadowy figure by the lamp post) met them at the theater after work. HP has been a big part of their childhood and they are sad by it's ending so I wanted to do something special for them.
@proudrhrshipper - Thanks! They all went to the movie in costume and my son met them there dressed as Snape. (There's a pic of him in costume on the 17th) ;) The background is our street and I just happened to capture it as the lightning lit up the sky/clouds. It was pretty cool. I just added the moon, my son by the lamp post, shadowing, smoke, and wand effects (which I have since learned that green is a death spell??? Oops! LOL!) Oh, and I messed with the lighting on the car a bit as well as personalizing the license plate. Thanks again for the compliments. I have ordered large prints for them all to put on their walls. :)
well....again I'm amazed by other ppls choices of favs. I didn't think anything of this but it got almost more favs then any other of my photos. The only other one I liked this week was a filler from 3 years ago so I couldn't use that one. So...here it is. What do you think it is that ppl like so much?
Not really clued on post processing other than the simple basics, so was quite proud of this attempt :-)
Took the sunset last week and the selfie on the 21st
I guess this one because I'm so happy to have finally made it to a hot air balloon festival where the balloons actually took off! We arrived just in time to see a few take off.
Not technically my best but I just love seeing the smile on my son's face as he skis. He didn't see me taking this shot, he just loves being out on the slopes so much it is hard to get him to come in for the night!!
This was mine for personal reasons - my girls had just come back from holiday with their grandparents... I hadn't seen them for 6 weeks and they loved the little skating hats I knit them... so much that they wore them in 95 degree heat!
@tford that is absolutely gorgeous @melinareyes love the originality of your shot. Not your typical "bug on a flower" shot @andycoleborn love yours too!

My husband with our 6 day old grand daughter-she looks like she happy to have a hug from her pop!!
one of my favorite photos for all time, i think.
It's a hard choice for me between this and my splash of color on the 19th, but I just have to go with Snape for sentimental value:

This is the board we use at work, to go live on the air. :) And I was flying solo that night for the first time ever.
I like this one... so much effort to get edit it.
Has to be this one...never put so much effort into making a shot work :-)
This was my favourite from the week, not an amazing composition or technical shot, but a nice moment:

This one brings mixed emotions for me, I liek the photo but I'm sad for the bee who has had its wing torn off
