some years ago someone started a theme for the month of April of photographing the same thing every day... i can't recall who that was, but as no one else was leading the charge last year i started a thread and quite a few of you decided to join me... We're coming up on April again, and i'm set to play - anyone else?
the deets:
pick a subject, any subject, so long as it is something you will have access to every day during the month of April (last year I picked my bedroom window - blame COVID!)...
think of a new and different way to take a picture of that subject every day...
that's it... there are no other rules! you can try different photography techniques, different perspectives, different cameras, camera settings and lenses, different processing styles.... the world's your oyster!
this is an exercise in creativity and stick-to-it-iveness...
play along for a couple of days, a week, or the complete month...
This challenge help keep my phojo alive last year when we were in hard lockdown. Think I will do it again this year. Might choose a portable object as we have a tad more freedom this year.
It was me who started it...or continued it when someone left...one or the other hahahahaha...I forgot a couple of years ago and you and maybe someone else in between picked it up.....glad you did :)
I did my desk - but I also did a month of walls - I'll have a little think! :-) I like @salza's idea of a portable thing - but I do that anyway, so I'd have to double up
@northy Great! Last year I joined this challenge, hosted by you, with Mr. Jones, my one and only vacuum cleaner ;) It was such fun and sometimes Mr . Jones brought me in compromising situations (that one time when he sucked up my T-shirt that I was wearing). Thanks for hosting and bringing this challenge up again, Northy!
@njmom3 hey - no need to angst about commitment... pick a subject and do one day... and then decide if you'll do a second day... and decide again about a third day... if you do it, you do it... if you don't, you don't! no harm, no foul 🙂
Many moons ago, I wish someone had had this thread as I started about 45 days (maybe more) before I retired and took a picture of the sky every time I left the office. It was interesting.
I almost got this done a couple of years ago when I walked to our old driveshed in the back. Will try it again with my garden(s) ... they should provide enough interest!
This sounds interesting. I am thinking of either a box I can set up scenes in, or along the deck of cards idea, maybe the “one” thing would be old photographs shot as part of the same location they were originally from. Not sure I have that kind of energy.
I've started PinkApril21 and most of my ideas are indoor objects so I might stretch a point and also tag them for this challenge under 'pink at home'?!
This will be fun. I chose my hiking boots as my subject. I hope I'm up to this challenge. Something totally different for me. Good luck, everyone. How do you post a photo in the forums?
@mtaylor nice starting photo! when you view your photo beside the photo count is a share button - cope the share code and paste it into a reply here and your photo will display 😊
welcome to 365 I hope you love it here
I'm in again - I realised last year I used a toy koala I named JordanT (for Jordan toy). we had all just gone into lockdown and I had ordered a box full and markets were shut down. It ended up with koalas being flown all around the world and a lot of unexpected fun.
So I'm going to feature another one of these koalas this month. It is so outside my comfort zone to photograph these kinds of things that it just might do me a lot of good!
This year I'll do " In or From my Kitchen" !
There's someone I follow called northy who I might nick ideas from!
I don't think i can do it for the whole month but maybe for a few days
Trying to think of a good subject for this year.........
welcome to 365 I hope you love it here
