This morning we got up early to see the sunrise. I worked out a place to go where the sun would be rising over the top of Rangitoto Island. Unfortunately I should have checked the satellite view of google maps as there was no access to the beach and visibility between the trees wasn't optimal. However, saying that I was reasonably happy with the result.
