Green Ants

I loved the green ants I saw on our trip. This one was carrying another dead ant. At one time on the trip I licked a green ant and couldn't believe the burst of citrus flavour. Then that night on the boat I sampled a gin and tonic made with green ant gin. Even had a floating ant in my glass.

@helenhall - No I fished the ant out before I drank the rest of the G&T! Even the one I licked I made sure I put it back on the tree and it rushed away unharmed!! :-)

We did a multiday tramp in the NT and my son ate some straight from their nest. He said it was citrus flavour.

@christinav I think most ants produce formic acid which is disgusting! I find these ants that produce citric acid truly amazing!
