24th April 2015

Today was a non golf day so we headed out together. First we visited Punta Secca on the coast as our friends who are big Moltalbano fans wanted to see the location of his flat and we were also lucky to catch sight of the actor who plays him - Luca Zingaretti - during filming.

The day went a little down hill after this point. A number of months ago I had read about an amazing ricotta cheese festival over three days in a tiny town called Vizzini. It sounded fascinating so we drove the winding hour and a half to the town. It did seem a bit quiet as we drove in. There was a reason for this. The article I had read was wrong and the festival is only on for a day… the next day!! There is only so many times someone can apologise. To top it all it started to rain - heavily.

Back to the car and we then drove to another town - Caltagirone - for a wander. As it was siesta time very little was open in this little town decorated with ceramic tiles every where. Sadly nobody wanted to stay for long but I managed to grab this shot looking down a side street which is quite typical of a number of towns in this area.
Beautiful pov, comp, and quaintness. Looks as if it would have been great for photography if you'd been able to stay longer. Fav.
