Today I had a nice lunch having met my friend Sarah for the first of my birthday celebrations which is not actually until the 7th of February! I cannot believe that I will be 50, it’s really depressing as I’m then on my way to 60 on the 8th of February.
I tried to ignore that fact and it was lovely to catch up, we’ve known each other for nearly 25 years since we first met in our first jobs with the Civil Service as National Insurance Inspectors, neither of whom really wanted to be there.
We had a great lunch at Lime and Thyme in Raynes Park (I had a goats cheese, pumpkin and rocket pizza). Sarah gave me some beautifully wrapped presents which I’ve saved for next month. Unusually the train arrived in only a few minutes after I arrived at the station and it was the first time I had been on one of the new South Western trains.
