It is my sister Sophie’s birthday today so I texted and posted on Facebook. I’ve not heard from her yet although I know she’s got the day off work and I hope she likes my presents - a voucher, box of chocolates and a pair of rather nice blue opal stud earrings.
I made my first batch of fudge in the morning and in between that and making coconut ice, I helped Colin sort out the television which has crashed out for the third time in as many says and it looks like we’ll need an engineer in the New Year.
I popped out in the afternoon to the shops and then cut the fudge up in my return. Some last minute wrapping and more label writing before my second batch of fudge late in the evening to be cut tomorrow whilst baking the mince pies. Here’s the fudge at the start and cooling half an hour later. At this time of year I become a domesticated cook!!
