14th May 2021

1 year, 49 days since the start of the 1st lock down in March 2020

I was up early as I had my second hair cut since the lifting of lock down 3 and it felt good! Great to sit and have a chat with my friend Steph.

I had a look at some AirB&B places in Suffolk as we are thinking about a few days away to look at Colin’s family tree connections and I’ve always wanted to go to Lavenham. It is actually much cheaper to book an apartment and we would have the flexibility to self cater rather than have to go out to eat which is much more expensive!

On my return after coffee we spent the rest of the day setting up Colin’s new phone which Karen has given his (an old one of hers that is newer than mine!). It’s a great phone but as per usual the setting up was nit straight forward although it should have been. After hours we finally go the apps to download as well. Then the final step of re-pairing the Apple watch which also turned into a nightmare as for some reason the watch got so fa and then froze despite turning off and on and trying a force quiet. Then for no reason at all it started to work again although it was set up as a brand new watch.

Boris Johnson made yet another announcement this afternoon, a new Indian variant has arrived in the country and the rates have increased in a number of areas. We have been warned that this could effect further opening up across the country next month but he did not dare suggest we cannot visit family and stay there so Cornwall here we come next Wednesday!

We were so shattered that we decided to order a Chinese takeaway from our favourite China Garden which was very good, especially washed down with a large beer.
