A Month of Birds - Black-billed Magpie

I'm not really happy with this shot so will continue to pursue the magpie. I find his black face is so hard to photograph!
The magpie is a tame and inquisitive inhabitant of scrublands, forest edges, and riparian groves. It is a voracious consumer of anything, and will frequent road kills and feedlots. Equally at home in remote wilderness as it is in large western cities.
The magpie is thought to rank among the world's most intelligent creatures and is one of the few non-mammal species able to recognize itself in a mirror test.
they are a real challenge aren't they?
