We can share said the bee to the bug!
Would you believe that this was taken with my fisheye lens? I am rather impressed with the clarity of the shot considering how much it was cropped to get the bee as large in the frame as it is.

Yes - I did put the bee in the centre of the lens and got as close as the focal length would allow (just under a foot). I then really cropped the shot until the bee was a decent size.
