Easingwold is a small market town some 12 miles (19km) north of York, and is an attractive place with a wide green and market place, surrounded by predominantly Georgian buildings. It has a population of around 5,000, and there has been quite a lot of housing development since a bypass was built around the town.
To the north-east of the market is Uppleby, shown in this shot, a street with a wide grass verge with a row of mature trees, lined with houses of a variety of ages, but forming an attractive scene.
I rather liked that the red telephone box is still there, although I don't know if it still has a usable telephone in it. These telephone boxes are becoming an increasingly rare sight. Where they survive they often serve new purposes, with some being used to house defibrilators, or book exchanges.
Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.
I don't know much about Easingwold. I've passed through the town often enough, but this is only my third visit. I hope you enjoy the discoveries I've made.
As to the red telephone box, is that not Superman uses?
