Two shots of the same display item at the Thirsk yarnbombing event 'Endangered Speies', and one which clearly illustrates the effect of human behaviour on wildlife. I find it quite remarkable how inconsiderate some people are with their waste, just dumping packaging and other items rather than putting them in a waste bin or taking them home for disposal.
From the highest mountains to the ocean depths, waste from human activity can be found. What a terrible shadow it casts on the human race.
My pet hate at the moment is the way people just discard single use face masks when they have finished with them. They are a serious item of pollution, and potentially a health hazard as they may carry Covid-19.
If only people could think a little more and act more responsibly.
Yes a valuable lesson, I was taking photos the other day and put my hand on a pylon and cut my finger on a leftover hook. I dug it out and disposed of it properly after a few choice mumbles....only took a second to dig it out the post.
I totally agree with you. Turtles are very prone to swallowing plastic items which eventually will kill them. Humans are doing everything to gradually ruin our environment.
Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.
On the positive side of things, increasing numbers of people are volunteering to help with environmental projects, including litter picking, beach cleaning and others, and there is a move towards more environmentally friendly packing materials, so perhaps there is a glimmer of hope.
