Our last stopping point on our Saturday Moorsbus trip was at Helmsley, where we were fortunate to see a collection of miniature steam traction engines congregating in the Market Place. There is an annual steam weekend in Duncombe Park at Helmsley, and these small fully working machines were just leaving there.
This little gem is a replica of a Burrell steam traction engine named 'Badger Jack'.
Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.
I didn't get to spend any time at the steam event. other than seeing the miniature engines in Helmsley Market Place, and on Sunday seeing some of the full size engines leaving Duncombe Park while we were waiting for the Moorsbus back to York.
Thank you Paul, and I agree! I was at York railway station yesterday to see the first of the Scarborough Spa Express steam specials to Scarborough. It made an impressive sight under the station roof.
