A brief interlude in the recent rain allowed me to go to an appointment at the medical centre and fit in a walk around the Homestead Park.
Their Christmas display of wicker figures is still in place, so I took a final shot. I've taken shots of the individual figures before, but not most of the figures like this. They are based on the Dickens novella 'A Christmas Carol', with the addition of a rather splendid wicker Christmas tree.
This is the first time they have repeated a display - this theme was first used in 2021. There have been quite a few summer displays, often based around children's books or films, and are always popular with both children and adults.
A Christmas Carol has become part of our Christmas routine, with both Alistair Sim and Patrick Stewart dvds to watch. It's nice to have this wicker display as an addition to the tradition.
Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are very much appreciated.
These displays have been produced each summer for several years, the first one being linked to a First World War centenary. Other displays (some of which have featured in our project) include dinosaurs, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, Wallace and Gromit.

Thank you Nina - it's always interesting to see a new display from the gardeners!

We watched the Alistair Sim version, but never got around to Patrick Stewart. Perhaps next year?
