One of a huge number of fallen leaves scattered around the Homestead Park in York, when Katharine and I were there yesterday afternoon.
The structure and shape of leaves is quite complex and fascinating, as is the range of colours displayed by different varieties. It seems almost criminal to just collect them up for compost, but at least the beauty of this one is remembered in my photo.
Thank you all for your lovely comments and favs, they are all very much appreciated.
The Homestead Park has changed quite a lot since our last visit, following recent strong winds and heavy rain. Many of the trees have now lost the last of their leaves, scattering them far and wide, but providing more different photo opportunities.
