A lone duck on the pond this year. We used to have many ducks and geese on this pond but since the town has started 'improving' the area with plastic playgrounds and leash-free dog parks and cutting down the field of tall grasses there are many less geese and ducks showing up. I can only assume that many of the blackbirds, rabbits and muskrat that use to live in the area will be relocating too, or just not surviving the 'improvements'.
