Gentle eyes that see so much
Paws that have the quiet touch
Purrs to signal 'all is well'
And show more love than words could tell
Gracefully moments touched with pride
A calming presence by your side
A friendship that takes time to grow
Small wonder why we love them so.

@cmsch52 That is exciting! Congrats to you, Carol, and I hope you post a photo. They are the best and she is my first kitty since I grew up highly allergic. Katniss was also a pregnant stray, after the family left her behind...unbelievable! I am madly in love with her!!!
@cmsch52 Yes, pictures, please! Cathee's friends are watching, too!
Cathee, we all know Katniss never takes a bad photo!! How gorgeous she is. Sitting here in the Admiral's Club in Dallas, I shared the photo and poem with Ken. Did YOU write that? If not, who??? It's so sweet...so perfect! Just love it!
@pamknowler Thank you...well, Maine Coons are called the dogs of the cat world and Gentle Giants. They have some traits that remind people of dogs. They are more social, can follow you around and Katniss comes when I call her from outside. They get along well with children and dogs. They are a good first cat for "dog people".
@gardenfolk Finlay hates cats! If you say the word cat he is up and looking into the garden just in case one has dared to intrude! Sadly I don't think he would handle a cat being introduced not the house. I think he would try to kill it and just can't chance it.
@pamknowler Well, you know Finlay best. Sophie would chase after cats too! But, one day, I looked in the backyard and there was Katniss standing on the patio next to Sophie and Sophie just staring at me wondering why wasn't this cat running away from her?!? Katniss could have taken Sophie out with one swipe of her claws but she was so good and patient with her and now they keep each other entertained and play and chase but in a friendly way. Sophie thinks she is full of magic they way she can climb a tree and jump the fence and jump on anything and everything she wants to in a single bound! I am lucky though that she does not jump on the kitchen counters or stove in the kitchen...she is one smart kitty!

Soooo excited. Today's the day!
Actually, I'd better get off this site (so addictive) and get going.
