Clouds are the
sky's imagination.

At the beginning of August, I decided to post a sunset or sky shot every Monday. That was before I knew we were going to be affected by two huge fires with smoke and poor air quality. This was taken earlier in August.
The Dixie Fire started on July 13, has burned over 725,822 acres and is 40% contained. 1,259 structured have been destroyed and the evacuation zone is 1,900 square miles. It is the second largest fire in California. They have also closed 10 National Forests in Northern California.
The Caldor Fire that started on August 14 has burned 114,166 acres, charred 154 square miles of trees and is only 9% contained. It has destroyed 403 homes, 148 structures and 6 commercial properties. 24,500 people have been evacuated with no place to go and the main road to South Lake Tahoe is closed from Sky Park (close toPollack Pines) to Meyers, with no timeline to reopen.
The Caldor Fire is now the nation's top priority wildfire. It is knocking on the door to the Lake Tahoe basin. The air quality had hit 500 which is hazardous-a health warning of emergency conditions and can cause serious health effects. This fire is one of four major wildfires in Northern California. Overall, 13 major wildfires are still active in California and have burned through 1.54 million acres.
It is overwhelming and all too much...heartbreaking to think about.
Your photo, on the other hand, is beautiful.
