Taste the Fruit

Live in each season as it passes:

Breathe the air,
drink the drink,
taste the fruit.
...Henry David Thoreau

These are delicious. They are called Forelle Pears: Small, oval and incredibly sweet. They are most known for their dramatic “lenticels” or pear freckles which show up in bright red swaths that spread over these pears light green flesh.

They are tiny, the smallest pears I have ever seen. I have been craving fruit lately...mandarins, pears, apples, grapefruit...but all the vitamin C couldn't save me from getting covid. :(

A nice capture of the tray of pears and their reflection in the window! Fav (I hope you're not feeling too awful, Cathee. Just wondering...have you considered taking Paxlovid? (You need to start taking it within 5 days of symptoms appearing). People report feeling much better within a day of starting to take it.)

@365projectorgheatherb My husband is taking Paxlovid. I tried one dose but it left an awful taste in my mouth. My doc was sick and cancelled my phone appt so I decided not to get it for myself. I am taking Aleve and NyQuill at night for the cough. Slowly feeling better. Thank you ❤️

Thank you. Sadly, my husband brought Covid home from work. He had to close his retail store for a week because only 3 people work there and they all tested positive.

@gardenfolk Yes, I've heard the metallic taste of Paxlovid is pretty awful! So glad to hear that you're starting to feel a little better. I hope you can both take all the time you need to rest and recover fully. Love and hugs! xo
