This is our local ice cream shop selling Bond's ice cream. It is a very well known brand in the area & beyond. It seems to have a taste of it's own & every day of the year you can see people queuing up for an ice cream here. I watched these two ladies gazing into the window & walking from side to side trying to decide what flavour to have ! They sell it in tubs at most of the local shops but nothing compares with smoothness & taste of buying it here where it is made. Bonds have a restaurant to the right of this picture where you can buy Sunday lunch or a meal any day of the week. The menu is very traditional..meat & two veg type but just how mum would cook it!
It does a good line in funeral teas too !!!!!!
Half the pleasure is in deciding which flavour to choose. The man on the right looks as if he's working his way through the lot, with one in each hand!
Oooh Pat - you're doing it to me again!! First Booths and now Bond's. I didn't know they had their own shop - what a great place for a funeral tea as well - I would insist on Choc-chip all round!!
nice one pat, well it's been ice cream weather today, i must admit even though i originate from lancs, i never heard of Bond's, but BOlton was a long way from the fydle !!!!
nice one - it certainly was a day hot enought for ice cream! I was stuck in the car for quite a lot - could've done with an ice cream! I've heard of Bonds - my years in the milk and dairy industry fill me full of useless names!!
choices choices choices................bit like empty car park decisions!
But there's nothing like a perfect ice cream chosen on a perfect day!
Hope we get one soon!
What's a funeral tea? Bonds is a brand of underwear down under. There used to be a brand of bonds knickers known as "no knickers". Apparently they felt so comfortable that it felt like you were wearing "no knickers". The ad was very cheeky with the people saying "I'm wearing no knickers today". LOL Anyway, that sure strayed away from the idea of delicious ice cream! LOL
