Helen, my next door neighbour has just trained to teach Callanetics & has started giving classes at various village halls in this area. I told her I would join & yesterday morning was the first class.
Callanetics works by toning the muscles & not by weight loss but you do tone up so do look slimmer....the average is 6inches lost in 10 weeks !!!!
I do feel quite delicate today !!! Watch this space!
It was quite hard to take this photo as I didn't want my face in & then I had to move various stuff off the bedroom floor & out of sight. The glass on the mirror had to be cleaned & I had to put on my joggers... are we not a crazy bunch !!!!
Your preparations for the photo made me laugh - I find myself doing exactly the same for an indoor shot! It's a brilliant composition - with the fireplace reflected through the mirror too.
@samdan Well there were various moves slightly similar but it's not as physical as Pilates in the sense that it works by isolating muscle groups using tiny precise movements that tighten & reshape the body. I live in high hopes !! Although I don't need to lose weight I could do with lots of toning up !!!
@jmj@meisen325 Well we have to laugh don't we, the lengths we go to....if somebody caught me doing all this stuff to get a different shot I would be embarrassed !
I like your composition and your fireplace! I was given a book on Callenetics years ago and did see the benefits when I kept up the excercises, perhaps I should start them again!
6 inches would be great!! I'm faving this because I think the composition is fab!! Love your fireplace with the flowers and beads and your exercise pose and the coloured clothes on the door - well worth the tidying!! No pain no gain!
@judithg Thank you Judith for the fave. It was a bit of a palaver getting the place fit for a photo & those things hanging on the mirror are my scarves, that's were I keep them draped over the side. I am thinking 6 inches would be good too !!!
Marvelous shot, Pat! Oh the things we will go through for the sake of a shot! Sounds like a great fitness program...I'm eager to hear how you like it and what kind of results you get. By the way ~ I placed an order with Liz Earle. I gave them your name as the one who recommended their products. I hope that you might get some sort of thank you gift from them.
@peggysirk Well Peggy that is great & many thanks for giving them my name, I will let you know what or if anything happens !!! I know you will love their stuff, the smell alone is heaven !!! I use the Cleanse & Polish & have also just started using their sheer foundation too. Have tried various other products as they do send samples with your order but everything is lovely just depends if I am feeling flush with money or not as the case may be !!!!!!!! Let me know what you think !!!! Do you have a channel called QVC in the USA ? Liz Earle herself often sells her products on there, they are only sold in the big stores here such as John Lewis so can be quite hard to get hold of unless on- line.
@happypat We do have QVC ~ although I have to admit I never watch it. Liz Earle has a lovely website that makes ordering a breeze. I received an email from them on Tuesday saying that my order had been shipped via "Royal Mail". I'm hoping that her products will make my complexion as soft and fresh as the dew on an English Rose. :) I'll let you know how much I love it!
@peggysirk That sounds great Peggy !! If you ever do get chance to see Liz Earle herself she is a great advert for her own stuff as she must be in her late forties with 5 children & she doesn't look a day older than 35 !!!
Putting your best foot forward, Pat :) I like the splash of colour from the scarf too. My mum does Callanetics, as does my sister and they both seem to like it. They've been going to classes for a few years now and they seem to enjoy the benefits. Moderate exercise has to be a good thing in my book.
and i think doing any sports is great!!!!
Fascinating colours and bits and pieces that are very you!
Enjoy and hope you feel the benefit soon!
