When we were farming Harry was always very conscientious & keen to keep everything spic & span & on top of his job.
Around this time of year when the cows were being turned out & there wasn't as much work in the buildings my daughter in law & I used to think ''great now we can all have a bit of time off '' but our men used to say ''oh no we have the 'spring work' to do !! They meant sitting on tractors rolling, slurry spreading etc & would rather do that than go off for the day !!!
Here is a good example of another man loving been on a tractor & doing his own thing !!
@maggiemae Thank you .. have now put on best viewed large !!! Our houses usually have a chimney at either end of the house !! Some of our older house have fire places in the bedrooms !! I remember being ill in bed as a child & having the fire light flickering on the wall while I was tucked up in bed ...bliss!
The average person really has no idea how much work is invovled in farming. I read a bumper sticker one time that said, "Don't complain about farmers with your mouth full."
Know just what you mean Pat. Here when it is to wet and rainy you would think that would be a day off. But no thats when the wet weather jobs get done. Servicing repairing machinery and equipment, office work etc. etc.
Great photo. Our first home was next to a *father/son* hereford cattle farm (best neighbors we ever had) and the two of them worked from very early in the morning to very late at night.
@karenann Thank you so much Karen !! I keep calling you Karen but your full name might be Karenann so perhaps I will call you by your full one next time !!
