One bad thing:
Ian Holloway has gone to Chrystal Palace, a disaster for Blackpool Football Club!
He has been a charismatic football manager for the last 3 years & will be sorely missed.
I read in the paper today that he has three profoundly deaf daughters all in London , one of the reasons he want's to move south.
Three good things:
1. The lovely B&B guest has fixed the minor problem with the TV.
2. Jack has had two offers of places at Universities.
3. I am enjoying a book on my Kindle which I wouldn't normally read which is free to borrow & one of the most intriguing first books I have ever read.
@busylady It's called First & Only by Peter Flannery, his first novel, a Physiological thriller which hasn't got less than 4 stars in 108 reviews. Not my normal type of book but it was free & I can hardly put it down.
That ssounds like a book for me to order and I do have £20 from my AUnt for my birthday still burning ahole in my pocket!! Good news about 2. As for Ian Holloway, I love the guy. There was a very good documentary on about his family several years ago. Very good shot as well. Lovely sky.
@seanoneill It's only £1.98 on Kindle Sean. I am nearly at the end I can only say my heart is still pounding it's so exciting!!!! I can hardly bear to read it!!! We loved the guy too Sean ...Chrystal Palace are very lucky!!! Didn't help that the Oystons never gave him any money to spend on players!!!
@seanoneill Oh I love my Kindle Sean so ideal for travelling & reading in bed with the light out! You will be converted one day....I also love the feel of a proper book too.
Jack has got offers from Keale & Hull at the moment but is hoping for Leeds most. Early days yet as the entry doesn't close until end of January sometime. He's not sure what he wants to do but taking Biology, IT, RE & Philosophy.
@maggiemae@snowy I can hardly read the end it's so tense & will have to brace myself to get to the end! you know when you keep missing words as you just want to see what happens?
What a beautiful sky! I love my Kindle and my Kindle Fire. I am awfully cheap about buying books when I volunteer at the library, so I browse the free ones and many i discard, but some are so good!! Glad you got a good one!
@seanoneill He thought Hull was a very friendly University with lovely buildings but not quite the right course for him on one subject so has gone to the bottom of the list!!
What a stunning sky! Congratulations to Jack...such an exciting time for all!! Thanks for the book tip. I'll have to download that one. I love a good thriller every now and then.
