Spring work 1. by happypat

Spring work 1.

This dry weather has been fantastic for doing work in the fields.
All the maize & grass has been sown & the newly worked fields look beautiful.

Thank you so much for all your concern after yesterdays little mishap...I felt so much better after I had told the tale & all your commiserations...such a little thing but you keep going over it!!!

The police said this morning it was a shared responsibility & I had no obligation to pay for his hub cap but I will when he rings me.

Three good things:
1. I had such a laugh this morning, Reg is back & you know I make him a packed lunch, well I took his flasks out of his jute bag last night to fill with hot water as they keep hotter during the day if I do that.
Left the bag on the floor over night & this morning Lily the cat had weed in it! I had to pretend I had spilt his flask....all washed & clean now & what you don't know doesn't hurt!!
Harry hadn't made her go out...said it was too cold & windy, all this at 5.45am !
2. Reg has a nice clean bag.
3. My lost spare front door keys are returned.
I am glad to hear that things are looking better for you today Pat !! -- Lovely rural scene -always tons of seagull following the plough -in hope of some tasty morsels !! I had intended going out into the garden to supervise !! this afternoon but we had a torrential down pour for a while & rain is still blowing in the wind -- it will do it good before I put out my geranium plants !!

I'm so glad that you are feeling better about it! You are a good soul. We need more good souls in this world.

A lovely rural scene. Beautiful.

Have just read your two posts about your altercation. A hub cap, he chased you over a hubcap. I would tell him to kiss the sunny side of my geranium if it were me Pat. He wasted more of his own time and money than the hub cap is worth. Sounds to me as if his village is missing its idiot. Now, moving on, this is a fab shot, I so love farming and farmland shots and this is a cracker. Now, if you refuse to pay for the hubcap i will give you a fave!! :))

Good to hear about the police advice! Hope he doesn't phone!!!!
Great to see the farmers getting on at last.................so much delay all over the country.
Good to laugh at Lily............in fact it's just good to laugh!!
May 10th, 2013
@seanoneill Well we did laugh at your funny words & I agree he was very petty....wondering if it was not his car as it was a taxi firm & he would get into trouble. You can't give me a fave because I daren't not pay for a hub cap as the stupidest thing I did was give him my B&B card...it was raining I had no pen etc etc ..I think our village has it's idiot firmly in place!!! He might come round & do damage so easier just to pay up ....sorry Sean!! Thank you for your lovely comments re the photo!!!
May 10th, 2013
@sarah19 He might just leave it & not bother ringing ...hope so Sallie but the price of a hubcap is a price worth paying to get it over with!!!
Lily is the pitts isn't she!!!!
May 10th, 2013
Lovely country scene and I did laugh at the pussy cat! Hope Reg does not look at 365. Glad that you have decided what you will do about the 'shared responsibility'. I had a near miss at a roundabout today but thankfully it was a miss.
May 10th, 2013
@quietpurplehaze Roundabouts are the very devil aren't they...my daughter has a new job & has to travel to different clinics she is not sure of the whereabouts & she is always getting pipped at she says, in the wrong lane again!! Glad all was well Hazel.
May 10th, 2013
@cdonohoue Oh thanks Cathy I try to do what I would like others to do but not averse to a bit of cursing!!!
May 10th, 2013
@beryl Rain & wind here too Beryl ...no bedding plants out here yet either!! Thank you!
May 10th, 2013
@netkonnexion Yes the land is looking very well managed at the moment & I have seen some great field & farm shots on here.
May 10th, 2013
I'm so tempted to set up a new account and pretend to be Reg!! In fact if I didn't have to Polyfiller Rachel's walls (Nigel took some shelves out so she can get the old kitchen chair in her room) I might not be able to restrain myself!! Well you were pre-warming his flask and Lily was pre-warming his bag. It was blooming windy last night. Lovely photo too - presumably they'd like a bit of rain now - about time they got some good news with the weather.
May 10th, 2013
It's looks like it;s been a busy and productive day! So glad you're feeling better after yesterday.
May 10th, 2013
@judithg Harry is far too soft with Lily Judith, no wonder she has agoraphobia plus she has a litter tray in the utility room but he shut the kitchen door!!! He nudged me awake to tell me what had happened at 5.45am ...no wonder I'm yawning tonight!! Pre-warming his bag.....I love it!!! Yes glad of the rain but has to be fine on Sunday...big walk for son-in-laws big birthday...30 or so of us going except Harry (the walker) who unfortunately can't walk far at the moment!
May 10th, 2013
@happypat Oh poor Harry - I hope there's a grand prix or something on instead, Agoraphobic cat......lol..
May 10th, 2013
@judithg Afternoon tea first so he will be Ok for that then a walk round Stoneyhurst College then an evening meal after so will watch the F1 in the lounge with other dad.
May 10th, 2013
Nice shot. Seagulls obviously approve! I wouldn't pay him but tell him he can have your cat. :)
May 10th, 2013
@barrowlane A very good exchange........I have had some laughs today , thank you so much!!!!!
May 10th, 2013
@happypat

This was straightforward: I checked and started off on the roundabout and for some reason, looked again and a woman driver was coming from the right like a bat out of hell. And she had the cheek to give me a look as I braked sharply when I saw her coming! I agree some roundabouts are so complicated - I tend to go another way to avoid them!!

A beautiful rural scene , I love to see the birds following The tractor
May 10th, 2013
Yeah, I had a PP up for about 2 hours on the PP too. Had one with 18 quick favs a while ago and it didn't get up at all. Had one with like 3 favs and it was up for a couple days. Go figure. Those monkeys
May 10th, 2013
Somehow I missed yesterday. What a petty, small man! I hope it all works out. Meanwhile, this is such a lovely rural photo!
May 10th, 2013
@sailingmusic Weird how it works, someone said it was by percentage of comments so if you have 17 faves by 50 people say it won't get on PP but if you have 17 faves by say 20 people you might....my guess anyway! Not that 's why we do it but always gives a thrill when your photo is on PP.
May 10th, 2013
@snowy @mcmary Thank you Mary & Diana.
May 10th, 2013
a classic scene PAt, love the birds....does Reg read your 365 by any chaqnce :)
May 10th, 2013
Love the photo. Poor Lily! She's getting old poor thing! Hope you feel better today re what happened yesterday x x x
May 10th, 2013
A lovely farm scene with all the birds looking to get lucky. I'm pleased you're feeling a bit better about yesterday's little mishap.
May 11th, 2013
This is such a great scene
May 11th, 2013
Great reading down the lines here! It's wonderful this 365 crew are so supportive and are not silly about things! You still seem to find 3 good things!
May 11th, 2013
Farmers are into spring work here as well. So nice to see the changing of the seasons.
May 11th, 2013
Well it sounds like it all might work out ok
May 11th, 2013
@happypat Sounds like he might cope with that!
May 11th, 2013
JH
Oh this is nice with the birds over all the fresh tilled earth.
May 11th, 2013
I think your last five photos have been some of the best that you've produced over the past 2 years, this is great.
May 11th, 2013
A lovely blue tractor. Strange, I always associate red with tractors. I don't think I've seen a blue one before.
May 11th, 2013
@floralchick Lyn has just reminded me it was Lilys birthday today too!!! She got short shirt poor thing on her birthday!!
May 11th, 2013
@guycalledjack Thank you so much Jack!
May 11th, 2013
Very good shot. *Shared responsibility* is the same as *not your fault* in my book. Good to hear that you have settled down a bit. A hub cap is certainly nothing to get upset over.
May 13th, 2013
Love this look at the work going on in the field. Looks like the trees are really blowing in the breeze.
So good of you to take the blame for Lily's misdeed, Pat. And you are so right as far as Reg is concerned, what he doesn't know won't hurt him. :)
I read your story of the altercation with the cabbie he other day, but didn't have time to comment at the time. From the start I thought it sounded like you were not at fault and the cabbie was blowing things way out of proportion. Glad you got official confirmation of that fact. If the guy comes around looking for compensation, I'd start by offering him half the cost of a new hubcap. Although I'm thinking after he's had this time to cool off, you'll never hear from him...
May 13th, 2013
Love this farm shot, the colorful tractor and the movement of the birds. Certainly hope you never hear from the hub cap fellow.
May 13th, 2013
eva
Nice composition and capture.
May 15th, 2013
