Jack my grandson saw this photo opportunity & said ' a great 365 shot Gran', I think he was right!
This is an old unused garage near where we used to live beneath Beacon Fell. The house is still lived in by the elderly couple but the garage has fallen into disrepair.
Thank you all so much for your very surprising faves for my clematis photo...for a quick last minute shot I was amazed & so pleased to see it on PP...you are all stars!!
Three good things:
1. We have bought a new TV & blue ray player today. We discovered last night from John our clever B&B that although we have been paying an extra £10 per month for HD our TV was not capable of receiving the better picture...no wonder I have been disappointed with HD !!
2. The clever John is going to set the whole thing up for us tomorrow!!
3. The smell of lovely fresh peaches in the fruit bowl behind me as I write this....I am hungry!!
@grannysue@quietpurplehaze Thank you both...I did try it in b/w Linda but it looked bitty somehow & I liked the old faded paint. Generally speaking I prefer colour unless the photo is very simple with clean lines.
Seems a shame to lose all those matching blues but I also love you B&W version! Excellent work fro Jack! And why didn't I see your gorgeous clematis till now! TV's are amazing when you get them set up right - we could get an HD picture but no sound on the HD channel so I switched to a TIVO box which is altogether better though I ended up not saving any money which is why I called up originally! Some things you can really see the difference (especially films) and Broadchurch!
@judithg Cathy came last night & she missed Broadchurch on the first time round but has just watched the first three episodes...can't wait until the next ones arrive!
@sparkle Thanks for the fave Juliette ...I did try & give it a touch of HDR in PicMonkey but no comparison in the way you do it of course. Was a bit of a find ...thanks Jack!!
It's a good find by your grandson, Pat. I remember particularly those round signs that used to turn in the wind. Haven't seen one of those for ages. I think that old garage is aging quite gracefully.
Isn't it fun when your grandchildren help you out like that? My James and Annie often point out photo ops for me. I love the textures and colors here. Nice find, Jack. Nice capture, Gran!
I'm late to this - don't know what happened to the last week or so - but also love it! Great retro pumps and crumbling blues and rust. Haven't seen anything like it for years.
