That time of the year again....a haircut looming!!

We loaded Henry up this morning ready for clipping time. He has gone to Grahams farm to join the other sheep...he will not be a happy boy!

We are just waiting for a phone call & Harry is going to help roll the fleeces up. It might be too damp to start, if so he will have to stay the night.

I feel just as if I have left my toddler child at the nursery...will he be happy & how do you think he has settled....silly isn't it but he doesn't like mixing with other sheep & will be homesick!

Three good things:
1. All the wonderful floral tributes lining the road for the murdered soldier in Woolwich, they are so moving.
2. More amazing scenes of the rescued baby in China, just unbelievable!
3. A quiet everyday life with nothing drastic happening.
Oh poor Henry. I know how you feel, when I have to take my Dusty (dog) to the vet and leave him for awhile, I feel terrible.

@grannysue I'm sure you do Linda...I am very tempted to go round & see where he is & how he's doing!!! Pet owners are a weak lilied bunch over our animals but Henry is a sheep for goodness sake......

Aaaw !! poor Henry 'he will feel the cold UNLESS the weather bucks-up again !! Isn't it silly how we fret over our dear pets -I have always given Alfie his trim & although I find it difficult with the Arthritis & the Polymyalgia ,I can not trust him to anyone else !!
May 29th, 2013
Hee hee....will he be in the huff when he gets back or overjoyed to see you!!
May 29th, 2013
I know how you feel. We have had to book our dog into kennels for the first time when we go on holiday next month. Although the kennel gets well recommended, I didn't like the look of the cages they were kept in when we went for a visit. I like your good things, it makes you think doesn't it?
May 29th, 2013
@sarah19 He will definitely be in a BIG huff Sallie!!! I will go & get a photo of the haircut, tomorrow I think now as no one has rung.
May 29th, 2013
Hehe, poor Henry. He doesn't look too thrilled.
May 29th, 2013
Update,,,,they have rung so will go & see Henry have his haircut.
May 29th, 2013
Yes - sometimes we have to be very glad for an ordinary day. What extraordinary pictures of that baby. I'm not sure I buy the arguments about him being born into the toilet (umbilical cord?) but I'm sure the mother was desperate and will be criticised while I haven't heard mention of the man involved - same old story. Anyway - fingers crossed for Henry - I'm sure he'll be well looked after!!
May 29th, 2013
@judithg They have rung so am off to see the deed done! Tomorrows photo sorted !!
I agree that was very odd about the baby ....poor girls in China we don't know what pressure they are under!!
May 29th, 2013
I'm sure you wil suffer more agony than Henry, not that it's much comfort. A lot to be said for GT no 3!
May 29th, 2013
great shot but boy he does look unhappy. I had to leave Cayenne off for anesthesia and teeth cleaning...apparently her plaque was getting so bad they were worried re infection. I feel like a worried pacing momma at the moment
May 29th, 2013
Completely agree with what @judithg says about the baby. Sounds a bit suspicious, bur all's well that ends well.

I love your story about Henry Pat. Just read it out to Graham and we both had a chuckle. Fingers crossed all has gone well for H. Can't wait to see the pics tomorrow
May 29th, 2013
@jantan i have just got back Jan & poor Henry has been through the mill, very stressed & at one point we thought he was a gonner but just tired I think! Anyway he is shorn of wool & back in his paddock tomorrow.
May 29th, 2013
@jgpittenger Terrible isn't it Jane .....the worry they cause us!!
May 29th, 2013
@quietpurplehaze Isn't there just Hazel, a boring but safe life hey!!!
May 29th, 2013
@busylady Ooh kennels , there's a dirty word but you have to live your life, the next dog...if there is one, will be taken to kennels definitely & get used to boarding out else you can't go anywhere!! Mind you easy said now!!
May 29th, 2013
I'm sure Henry will feel very sheepish when he's had his wool cut! Are you going to knit a jersey from his fleece?
May 29th, 2013
Poor Henry
May 29th, 2013
he can still see you
May 29th, 2013
Hope he's OK. He looks like a child being sent to school for the very first time! Heartbreaking.

Poor Henry. He looks so sad. But he will be happy when he returns.
May 29th, 2013
Poor Henry , glad to hear he has survived the ordeal and will be back home tomorrow
May 29th, 2013
@happypat And it's not even warm yet - he'll need a jumper!
May 29th, 2013
@judithg Harry has just come back & Henry is OK but a bit shocked. They have given him an injection for his lame foot & left him eating his tea. Graham is keeping him there inside if it's cold tomorrow.
May 29th, 2013
@happypat Oh good - bless his heart!
May 29th, 2013
This is such a cool shot with his eyes showing
May 30th, 2013
I like how Henry is framed!!
May 30th, 2013
I like your perspective on this shot
May 30th, 2013
Isn't it funny how we get so attached. That's how we feel when we drop off the boys for their haircut. they cry, and it makes you feel terrible.
May 30th, 2013
Oh! Poor Henry! He really does not look too happy in there at all. Too bad he can't understand he will feel so much better in the morning!
May 30th, 2013
Oh, my heart hurts a bit for you and your boy. Henry does not look happy. But I'm sure he'll feel so wonderful with his new spring haircut that he'll forget about his ordeal in no time. All will be well, Pat...with no lasting trauma. :) This is a fav, because I love Henry...and it's a classic shot!
May 30th, 2013
@peggysirk Thanks Peggy for your sympathetic comments...it has been a rather trying time...aren't we silly!!! XXXXfor the Fave!
May 30th, 2013
My youngest has been away in Normandy since monday, I am counting th ehours until 9-30 tonight when I pick him up at school, and he has told me I have a present!! Wow!! All my rather convaluted way of saying, I know how ya feel Pat, even if Henry is a sheep!
May 30th, 2013
Sweet little peek-a-boo. I'm working backward so I already know Henry survived his shearing but not without some stress. Hope he is back home and settled in to familiar surroundings.
May 30th, 2013
Poor Henry, he doesn't look pleased. Hope to see a shot of his new hairstyle

Ahhh glad he's home safe! I hadn't heard anything about the sewer pipe baby until I just read your 3GT (am rather shamefully self-absorbed at present) and went off for a snoop online. Completely amazing! Am with @judithg re being loath to judge woman involved though. There's a lot of vitriol I've seen on a skim of the internet, and not much compassion.

Oh having read on he's not home safe. Sorry - misread on a skim read of the comments. Well, certainly hope he is soon!

he looks so excited!
June 3rd, 2013
That sheep has memories of what this ride means, I'm sure of it.
June 3rd, 2013
great shot - and LOL to you being like a mother saying goodbye to your child going to school! He'll enjoy having his coat off with this warm weather!
