A sea of wild garlic, the country side was just so fresh & green this afternoon.
I took my friend who has recently had a hip replacement to Caton to get her hair cut.
While she was in there I walked down the Millennium Way along the River Lune.
I was taken out for my lunch & then on for a coffee at her daughters lovely house.
Three good things:
1. The gorgeous smell of wild garlic.
2. Birdsong.
3. The first new potatoes this year given to us by my sister in law. I was too full to have any but Harry enjoyed them. Plenty for tomorrow!
Super scene of wild garlic -- I can just imagine the garlicky smell when I was a child we had a gate at the bottom of the garden which led down to the river and masses of wild garlic grew around this gate -- my mother could always detect if I had been down to the river when the through the gate was a no,no area !!
We pick and pickle the wild garlic here - do you do that in the UK?
That is a great patch - ours are never that thick.
Great shot...!
