Footsteps by happypat

Footsteps

Another shot from yesterday as I have been painting most of the day so am rather shattered tonight.
Progressed to the kitchen now & am covering up all the wooden stained doors....don't know why I haven't done it before....something to do with the fact covering up wooden doors with paint.....a sort of taboo idea in our minds. They were so dark & even though only under coated the kitchen seems so much lighter.

My footsteps on a very quiet Blackpool beach.

Three good things:
1. Talked to no. 1 son this morning & the move from one farm to another has gone well. As my NZ 365 friends already know June 1st is moving day in farming circles in NZ as farm contracts always start on that day. A fabulous system of allowing young farmers to climb the farming ladder in different types of share farming in the hope of one day climbing the ladder to the top & owning your own farm. Would be unthinkable in the UK.
2. Harry went for some masking tape at the local hardware shop & came back with a kneeler...how have I ever managed without one before!
3. Siting in my chair for the evening with nothing to do except comment on 365.
Super shot Pat! Brilliant composition and a fav.

Fabulous leading line! I love the ferris wheel in the distance.

Were you drinking yesterday Pat? That line is really wobbly ;)
Great shot! I like when you go to Blackpool...the place of the wild donkeys

Wow that is wonderful with those big footprints leading you there. fav

Love your photo and hope the new kneeler saves your knees! I'm really interested in the painting dark wood in your kitchen as our has dark wood units but I haven't been brave enough to have a go at lightening up tho it has to be an improvement. Look forward to seeing a view when you get it finished... just a little at a time though...take care!
June 5th, 2014
@sarah19 I was even tempted to have a go at the kitchen units too but have changed my mind as they are fairly new as in 2002 & quite pale wood any way.
If yours are dark I would be very tempted....notice while I was in B&Q yesterday they had special paints for kitchen cupboards! I think you would need to sand them well to gets good key but very tempting! Just painting the three dark wood doors in the kitchen & though only under coated it's such an improvement Sallie....be brave!

@shutterbugger ha ha Jenn you are right now I look at them.......no drink at that time of the morning,,,,11am ....I hadn't realised what acwobblybline I took...busy looking at different angles I think!

@happypat thank you for encouraging me. We saw a special kind of paint at a shop not far away so I think I might have a go...could test out inside and see if it was suitable...and if not well...
Maybe in summer holidays!
June 5th, 2014
@sarah19 test the inside would be a great idea......go for it!

This is a lovely composition, I love the leading lines heading to the landmarks and the low pov. Well done on the painting. A nice relax has definitely been earned!

I once went to a night club in Blackpool called Funny Girls.

O_O
June 5th, 2014
@bulldog yes I've been there many moons ago.....you can't tell the difference can you?!
June 5th, 2014
No.. no I couldn't, I used to work in the Amusement (slot machine) industry and we had our annual show at the Winter Gardens. We used to love taking our customer there and watch their faces.
June 5th, 2014
@bulldog still going strong.
June 5th, 2014
Lovely low pov and a fabulous composition.

Wow Pat, you are on a roll. Now that I had to return to work, my painting is reserved for some of my weekends. Eventually I will get there

June 6th, 2014
This is ground breaking stuff! Hope you managed to get back up! I do like your 3 things.... I had serious trouble with mine but managed to get my head above water.
June 6th, 2014
Very cool. shot. So were you on your stomach shooting this?

This is a lovely shot. I like the wiggle in the footprints - was that intentional? The kitchen in the flat is horrid cheap reddy-coloured wood (or maybe even wood effect) and I've been yearning to paint it. Go for it!
June 6th, 2014
@jewelsandbinoculars perhaps the landlord might let you paint them, but have you the time!! I am just painting the wooden doors in the room which were all dark wood & not even nice dark wood.....kitchen cupboards are pale.
June 6th, 2014
Beautiful shot. Just love it. It takes me back. We used to visit Blackpool when I was a child and on the journey there, the person who saw the tower first was given sixpence.
I can't claim my sixpence here as there were so many people here who saw this photo before me.
June 7th, 2014
