A cold & wet day meant that Garstang market was very quiet today....I think the stall holders will be going home early!
Booths in comparison was really busy, warm & bustling with shoppers sheltering from the quick heavy showers.
This is part of Garstang High Street which on market day has stalls the full length all along one side. A one way street, sometimes the bus struggles to get through & all the traffic is held up, usually by a car with a disabled sticker
I called in at our bank which unfortunately is closing next month.
Three good things:
1. A made use of my Booths card & had a free coffee to warm me up.
2. A nice chat to an elderly lady also having a lone cup of tea.
3. A warm kitchen.
when I went into aldi on the prom it was sunny and then i stepped into another climate when I left. worst of all I had just been to the hairdressers!! nice shot, the town still looks nice with its blooms
It must be very depressing for the marker traders, but at least they don't have to worry about watering the plants. I got wet today; it was sunny when I got o a bus to Ipswich but pouring with rain when I got there, so went to have some lunch somewhere warm and dry, watching as the weather cleared - and then it started again as soon as I got outside. Don't we just love our weather!
I love seeing streets like this in England - it looks so social with the doors opening on to the road! Talking about disabled drivers - here the ladies with small children have decided they are disabled and park in all the disabled parking spaces! No stickers but they are aggressive!
This for me epitomises England as I know her ;) I've only visited a few times, during one of which I got ticketed for parking without a valid disk - I forget the outcome by now ;)
A lovely street scene -I love a good street market --I can see the plant stall has done some trade -Had very heavy rain showers today here too and a lack of enthusiasm to do much !!
Lovely street scene, so much to see in this shot. I have never been to Garstang, but this reminds me of Newark, another market town.
Such a shame when markets get rained off.
