Fells by happypat

Fells

Behind the town of Garstang lie the Barnacre Fells , Oakenclough Fells & Harrisend Fell to name just a few.
Great walking country which is very popular at weekends.
No snow here today thank goodness!

Three good things:
1. Stir fry for tea.
2. Car oil change was cheaper by £75 than was quoted...we aren't sure if they have charged us for labour or not!
3. Bunches of daffodils two for two pounds at evil Tesco!
Very gorgeous landscape, Pat!

Lovely landscape Pat. No snow here, Just the usual rain, mud and very cold winds. However there are signs of spring everywhere so it's not that far away.

lovely with the blue sky
January 29th, 2015
Lovely landscape... I am always a sucker for the first bunch of Daff's...
January 29th, 2015
Such a beautiful, sunny landscape and gorgeous blue sky.
Those daffodils you bought will add a touch of springtime until the real deal arrives...Spring can't come soon enough as far as I'm concerned.
January 29th, 2015
@peggysirk I have a lovely earthenware bowl I always put the daffodils in....still in bud yet but won't be long opening up! I am quite happy with winter still Peggy...I like hibernating a bit!
January 29th, 2015
@rosiekind @julzmaioro Yes patchy blue sky then it would cloud over......very cold though! Once January is over I always think we've cracked it!
January 29th, 2015
@happypat I'm good with hibernating to, Pat...I do enjoy the 'down time' of winter and the slower pace. But I'm ready for my feet to thaw out. I've been cold since December. ☺
January 29th, 2015
Beautiful landscape and wonderful blue sky.
January 29th, 2015
@peggysirk Oh dear Peggy...is it to do with your rheumatism? I hope you don't get chilblains on your toes! I had some sheepskin slippers bought me for Christmas ....you need some too. They are Uggs so the same as the boots.
January 29th, 2015
@bizziebeeme thanks Laura......was good to be out!

bleak and rather beautiful pat
January 29th, 2015
i"ve just heard from Kerry in Manchester - snow there and more to come! All those 'Fell's! I daresay we would call them foot hills. Then there's the word, "Downlands" which we don't use either! As you say great walking country - not too many high hills!
January 29th, 2015
It looks so lovely and fresh! I like the greens!
January 29th, 2015
Actually, Pat, my RA has been in remission for months. No more nasty chemo self-injections...hopefully forever. Fingers crossed. I'm just a cold natured person. I think I was born with cold feet and hands. :)
January 29th, 2015
@peggysirk that's gepreat news Peggy...perhaps you have just grown out of it ! I am a cold person too....ok if I keep moving but if I sit I feel the cold. I have Raynaud's disease & my fingers & thumbs go white all the time even in summer. I have always had it ....keep saying I would love a heated steering wheel!
January 29th, 2015
@phil_howcroft Yes it is a littke bleak in the winter but great views from the top Phil!
January 29th, 2015
@maggiemae downlands is a new word for me Maggiemae....we have Uplands but never heard of Downlands. They had lots of snow in Manchester this morning , they had to close the airport for a few hours.
January 29th, 2015
