Looking north towards Ambleside this is the view of the other end of Lake Windermere as seen from Orrest Head.
The sun wasn't shining into the camera lens so is much better detailed.
I might not have time to comment much tonight but will do my best!
Three good things:
1. Harry is to have a new knee! Finally after two years of messing about they are going to operate. We have been out all evening & after a further X-Ray tonight have finally decided...we are relieved!
2. By the time we came home tonight the terrific traffic queues that are plaguing our local roads were clear again. They are completely changing the junction a mile from our house & the queues are horrendous. There has been a helicopter overhead today to manage the traffic! Heaven help all the drivers who have to drive these roads twice a day!
3. I am reading another great book by Emma Healey called Elizabeth is Missing.
Two years is a long time to have a dicky knee! Glad he will have a new one - seems to work so well - these medical guys are so clever! A rocky platform to see this great view but I daresay that seat is cemented down! Awful about the traffic - when will they invent wings for us!
What a marvellous place to sit and admire the view. I do hope Harry 's knee opp goes well, as you may know I have both my knees replaced , and I am happy to say they get me around very well most of the time , I do find five bard gates a bit of a challenge now.
Another wonderful scene , and Pat ,I must say the subduded colours in this one makes a lot of difference to the scene -- as you know Pat I am a lover of colour and only on rare occasions I really like a B/W version !
I am pleased that they have decided on a replacement knee for Hrry --I hope he will not have to wait too long -- what's the waiting time like in your hospitals -- it does depend on the individual surgeon and their popularity as well doesn't it !
@beryl We forgot to ask about waiting times Beryl but a guy in the waiting room had to wait 8 weeks! It's a private hospital, the one where I had my gallbladder out actually, they do NHS work too. Thank you Beryl. You are up late.....I have Ben to bed & got up,again!
@happypat I hope Harry will not have to wait too long The waiting-game is the killer when you are in constant pain -as I well know --I do not know how I would manage without Gary's help these days ! haven't gone to bed yet , slept earlier in front of the T V and now must go up to bed in the hope my shoulder will be comfortable enough to sleep again !
Beautiful capture Pat. Good news about Harry hope the waiting list isn't too long. Hope your roadworks finish soon. Cheltenham races this week so best place to be is indoors!! Such a relief not to have to go to work and do school runs through the race traffic anymore!
I could sit on that bench for quite a while and take that in that stunning view!
Good news for Harry! I understand that knee replacements make a world of difference for those suffering with wonky knees.
Not good news about your local traffic...I have patience to spare with anything but traffic. It's the only thing I don't miss about living in Atlanta.
